Leonard Cohen - Who by Fire
And who by fire, who by water,
Who in the sunshine, who in the night time,
Who by high ordeal, who by common trial,
Who in your merry merry month of may,
Who by very slow decay,
And who shall I say is calling?
And who in her lonely slip, who by barbiturate,
Who in these realms of love, who by something blunt,
And who by avalanche, who by powder,
Who for his greed, who for his hunger,
And who shall I say is calling?
And who by brave assent, who by accident,
Who in solitude, who in this mirror,
Who by his lady's command, who by his own hand,
Who in mortal chains, who in power,
And who shall I say is calling?

Aniversários - Glenn Gould
Glenn Gould faria hoje 89 anos.
Beethoven tells you what it's like to be Beethoven and Mozart tells you what it's like to be human. Bach tells you what it's like to be the universe.
"Here, in this valuable footage, you see Gould's process: he plays, then goes away from the instrument to think about the passage and sing it. This is a process of internalizing the music. All the greats did this. It is crucial to practice away from the instrument. You should be able to sing everything you play. Then you are beginning generate the music from an internal place." @smythe555

(“Music is enough for a lifetime but a lifetime is not enough for music” Sergei Rachmaninoff)
